Silks

There are times in everyone's lives where their calling is clear and all it takes is the courage to answer. My passion has taken me from ballet to rock climbing and ultimately culminating in the most captivating performance art in the world. Silks.

The first time I saw a silks performance live was mesmerized. I knew beyond a doubt that I was meant to dance it. It captures the grace and artistry of ballet woven sinuously into a gravity defying sky dance. The exhileration of sheer height, the powerful movements, the erotic nature of the silk combine to create a breathtaking experience.

As I wrapped the fabric around my wrists for the first time a thrill ran through my body. I lifted and kicked my legs above my head and I was flying. I did it almost effortlessly, like I had done it a million times before. Although my arms burned from hanging on them, the movements came naturally to me. After my first lesson I had completed the entire 6 month beginner coursework. I performed in front of a 500 person audince four weeks later, to a standing ovation.
